Born around Tucker, Georgia in DeKalb county. Believe we moved to the Norcross farm about 1936. Started school at Glover, and completed 3 grades there. Started at Lilburn school in the 4th grade. Did a little 'farming', probably better classified as doing farm chores. Boy, hated that stuff. Looking back though, it wasn't bad after all. Graduated at the young age of 16 from Lilburn High School. At age 17 (1952), Mom and Dad signed papers for me to join the Air Force. Probably only because I was enlisting with Robert. Completed my 4 years and took my discharge in 1956. No real big events about my military time. The Korean war was going on when we joined, but believe it ended shortly after we joined. Guess they heard Robert & I were coming. :-) Got to spend some time in Texas, Pennsylvania, England and Germany. Incidentally, when someone uses this symbol :-) that represents a smile. Looks better than a "ha ha" or a "tee hee" don't you think? In 1957, got a job with Capital airlines, who merged with United Airlines in 1961. Spent all my time in Reservation offices in Birmingham, Washington, DC, and Atlanta. In 1988 the Atlanta office became a subsidiary of United (Apollo Travel Services) and before retiring in 1996, my last 8 years I did some small computer programming. Pat and I were married in 1960. She was with Eastern Airlines. Stuart was born in 1961 and as of 2000, he is an airline Pilot with American Eagle Airlines, soon to move up into American Airlines. I have been flying radio controlled model airplanes since about 1968. Still doing that today and since retiring, spending a lot of time on the computer. Building web pages and flying my toys. What more could a person want?
